Please join me in welcoming our community’s new Administrative Assistant to the Director of Student Affairs, Ms. Langone! In her office that connects to that of our Director of Student Affairs, Camille, Ms. Langone can be found hard at work for the betterment of our student body. If you are a member of the Friends Academy community, next time you enter Frost Hall through the first floor’s main doors, be sure to give Ms. Langone a quick hello– her consistent positive energy is sure to provide an uplifting boost to your day!
Before joining Friends Academy, Ms. Langone was actually a health and life insurance broker, working as the executive assistant of a CEO at a small company. Throughout her time working closely and building daily relationships with each member of the company’s 10 person team, Ms. Langone learned a lot about herself and where she could see herself most happy. She described to me that by the final year, “I ultimately knew that a school is where I needed to be,” so she decided to make the transition. After finding out she would be a part of FA, Ms. Langone felt beyond excited for the opportunity, and was ready to hit the ground running!
In her position currently, Ms. Langone is a liaison between departments, and is a vital member in the work of event/program coordination, budget support, and special student affairs projects. As for her daily activities on the faculty side of things, Ms. Langone sets up schedules, meetings, and necessary one-to-ones between faculty. In her strong partnership with Camille, Ms. Langone is there to make sure that there is constant and clear communication between all faculty members and the Student Affairs office. Meanwhile, on the student-facing side, Ms. Langone sets up all documentation to make sure that clubs and committees run successfully. Further, the smooth order of each logistical aspect that power clubs and committees, from faculty advisors to meeting locations, can all be in thanks to Ms. Langone’s detailed work.
Outside of her job responsibilities however, Ms. Langone’s favorite part of FA so far has been its community. In her own personal life, Ms, Langone values community involvement in an extremely high regard. She is always baking for her neighbors, and is an active member of other passionate communities that surround her hobbies, such as the pottery community. Hence, it was always safe to say that Ms. Langone would be seamlessly weaved into FA’s community right away. In her short time on campus, Ms. Langone has already had so many conversations “of substance and care, that really send me home smiling” each day.
It is this smile that has allowed Ms. Langone to feel “amazing” about her position at FA so far, and we have that same feeling about her being here! We are so excited to see all of the positive additions she will be sure to make throughout her time at FA. Welcome Ms. Langone!
